The Thailand Basketball League (TBL) (Thai: ไทยแลนด์บาสเกตบอลลีก) is a man's professional basketball league in Thailand. The lower competitions are the TBL Division 2 and Division 3. The league has a similar organization and structure as the NBA.

Hi-Tech Bangkok City is the most decorated team in league history, with four national titles.

History

The Thailand Basketball League was started in 2012 by the Basketball Sport Association of Thailand to develop basketball players in Thailand. Teams are composed of both Thai and foreign players. In 2012 and 2013 teams were allowed to use 2 foreigner players on the court at the same time, but, in 2014, teams can have only 1 foreign player on the court at a time. The champions are awarded ฿3,000,000.

Die Thailand Basketball League (TBL) ist die höchste professionelle Basketballliga in Thailand. Sie wurde 1995 gegründet und besteht aus 8 Teams. Die Saison läuft von Oktober bis Mai und wird im Playoff-Modus ausgetragen.

Das Niveau der TBL ist in den letzten Jahren stetig gestiegen. Im Jahr 2018 gewann die Mannschaft der Mono Vampire die Meisterschaft, nachdem sie im Finale die Bangkok Tigers mit 3:1 besiegt hatte.

Die TBL ist eine wichtige Plattform für thailändische Basketballspieler, um ihr Können unter Beweis zu stellen. Viele Spieler, die in der TBL gespielt haben, sind auch in der thailändischen Nationalmannschaft aktiv.

Die TBL ist bei den thailändischen Basketballfans sehr beliebt. Die Spiele finden in verschiedenen Städten Thailands statt und werden von Tausenden von Zuschauern besucht.
