Al Urooba Club (Arabic: نادي العروبة الرياضي الثقافي) is a United Arab Emirates professional football club based in the city of Mirbah and Qidfa, Fujairah. The club currently plays in the UAE First Division League.
History
In 1960 two clubs were founded in Mirbah and Qidfa, Al Wehda in Mirbah and Al Najma in Qidfa, both clubs were financially weak and by 1972, both clubs agreed to merge under the name Al Urooba to represent the Mirbah-Qidfa area of the Emirate of Fujairah.
Al Oruba Sport and Cultural Club, allgemein bekannt als Al Oruba, ist ein omanischer Sportverein in Sur, Gouvernement Dschanub al-Batina, gegründet 1970. Al Oruba ist ein Multisportklub, der in Fußball, Basketball, Handball, Volleyball, Hockey, Tischtennis, Schach, Leichtathletik, Schwimmen und Radsport antritt.
Der Fußballclub spielt in der Oman Professional League und gewann einmal die Meisterschaft in der Saison 2014/15. Al Oruba gewann auch dreimal den Oman FA Cup (1993, 1994 und 2004) und einmal den Oman Super Cup (2015). Der Verein nimmt auch an internationalen Wettbewerben teil, unter anderem am AFC Cup.
Al Oruba hat eine große Fangemeinde und ist bekannt für seine leidenschaftlichen Anhänger. Der Verein hat auch eine starke Jugendarbeit und hat eine Reihe von talentierten Spielern hervorgebracht.
