The Valur men's football team, commonly known as Valur, is the men's football department of the Knattspyrnufélagið Valur multi-sport club. The club is based in Reykjavík, Iceland, and currently plays in the Besta deild karla, the top league of men's football in Iceland. The team plays it's home games at Hlíðarendi in Reykjavík. The team's colours are red and white. Valur has spent most of its time in the top-flight of Icelandic football, spending only three seasons outside the top tier. Valur is one of the most successful football clubs in Iceland, with 23 Icelandic championships.
Valur Reykjavík ist ein isländischer Fußballverein aus der Hauptstadt Reykjavík. Der Verein wurde am 11. Mai 1911 gegründet. Er ist einer der erfolgreichsten Vereine Islands und hat 21 isländische Meisterschaften und 11 isländische Pokale gewonnen. Valur spielt seine Heimspiele im Hlíðarendi-Stadion.
Der Verein hat auch an europäischen Wettbewerben teilgenommen, unter anderem an der UEFA Champions League und der UEFA Europa League. Valurs größte Erfolge auf europäischer Ebene waren das Erreichen des Viertelfinales des UEFA-Pokals 1987/88 und des Achtelfinales der UEFA Champions League 1989/90.
Zu den bekanntesten Spielern, die für Valur gespielt haben, gehören Sigþór Guðjohnsen, Eiður Guðjohnsen und Aron Gunnarsson.
