Bellarmine ist eine US-amerikanische College-Basketballmannschaft, die die Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky, vertritt. Die Mannschaft tritt in der NCAA Division I an und ist Mitglied der Atlantic Sun Conference.

Der Name Bellarmine leitet sich von dem italienischen Kardinal und Gelehrten Roberto Bellarmino ab, der im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert lebte. Bellarmino war ein bedeutender Vertreter der katholischen Kirche und ein Gegner der Reformation. Er wurde 1930 von Papst Pius XI. heiliggesprochen.

Die Bellarmine Knights wurden 1950 gegründet. In ihrer Geschichte haben sie sechsmal das NCAA Division II Tournament gewonnen, zuletzt im Jahr 2011. Im Jahr 2020 wechselten die Knights von der Division II in die Division I und traten der Atlantic Sun Conference bei.

In ihrer ersten Division-I-Saison erreichten die Knights auf Anhieb das NCAA Tournament. Sie verloren in der ersten Runde gegen die University of Connecticut, aber sie zeigten, dass sie mit den besten Teams des Landes mithalten können.

Die Bellarmine Knights sind ein junges und aufstrebendes Team. Sie haben einen talentierten Kader und einen erfahrenen Trainerstab. Es ist nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis sie sich als eine der besten Mannschaften in der Division I etablieren.
